On this road trip to Western Australia’s Great South West Edge, we take you to the 10 most mesmerizing spots that are sure to leave you spellbound, and your Instagram #instagood.


1. Busselton Jetty

Busselton Jetty is known as the longest Timber-piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere. Extending 1.841km long over the protected waters of Geographe Bay, picture a length of grey and brown that stretches beyond the eyes can see, surrounded by clear blue waters. It is definitely one of the most popular spots to capture your most enthralling shot!

2. Injidup Natural Spa

A few minutes drive from the bustling little town of Yallingup and a short hike, you will find an extraordinary rock pool, the Injidup Natural Spa. Simply relax and enjoy the natural massage from the gentle rhythmic splashes from the wave, coupled with the calming fizzing sounds. A bird’s eye view from above gives you a scene of shimmering crystalline water, glowing white sand and massive boulders, oh #instagood indeed!

3. Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse

This tallest lighthouse on mainland Australia was named one of the top 3 best ocean views in the world by the National Geographic, and to make it even more special, you will see where the Indian and Southern oceans meet! With beautiful wooden walking paths and lustrous bushland surrounding the lighthouse and the intricate hand-carved tamala limestone of the lighthouse itself, the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse definitely deserve to be in the top 10 Instagrammable spots!

4. The Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk

The Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk offers a bird’s eye view of some of the biggest timber giants on Earth – Western Australia’s majestic tingle trees. Down below the forest’s trail, you will find some giant hollow butted Red Tingle trees which will give you the opportunity to stand and pose inside a living tree! What could be cooler than that?

5. Greens Pool

Imagine an expansive white beach that stretches out of sight, and a pool of peppermint-tinged water where locals do their morning exercise or snorkel at. Almost completely sheltered from the waves of the Great Southern Ocean by the rounded rock boulders typical to this area, the Green Pool is simply a tranquil paradise.

6. Elephant Rocks

A stunning rock formation that resembles a herd of elephants playing in the water, Elephant Rocks are huge, cracked oval boulders overlooking the Great Southern Ocean. Neighbour to Greens Pool, the Elephant Rocks is a perfect stopover in your journey further South!

7. The Gap and Natural Bridge

Lookouts at both the Gap and Natural Bridge provide outstanding views of the Southern Ocean and the coast from Bald Head to West Cape Howe in the Torndirrup National Park. From the gentle and mesmerising heaving of calm seas to the buffeting rush of wind and spray of winter storms, the experience changes from day to day. Step on the viewing platform 40m directly above the surging waters to see which view you will capture that day.

8. Lucky Bay

No trip to Australia is complete without a shot with the furry friendly Kangaroos! At Lucky Bay, Kangaroos are frequent visitors, so do get your cameras ready for that picture of the iconic animal on the white sands and beautiful waters of Lucky Bay.

9. Great Ocean Drive

Rightfully named “Australia’s most beautiful stretch of road”, the Great Ocean Drive gives you views of a dozen dazzling beaches and almost 100 islands in the 20km of stunning coastlines. Passengers, get your cameras ready throughout the journey and be rewarded with an array of gorgeous pictures after!

10. Wave Rock

One of Australia's biggest waves is also the furthest from any ocean - Wave Rock rises 15 metres above the outback plain. This 110-metre long multi-coloured granite cliff is shaped remarkably like a huge wave about to crash onto the bush. Pose on the rock face and surf the giant wave or see it from a different perspective by following the walk trails around the base and over the top!
